A Big Change For Our Family And Our Lives!

We are now changing our diets....

We are going to be eating a Whole foods plant~based diet. Which means no more processed foods, no sugars, and meat very, very sparingly or not at all.
This should be really great, we are excited to go about this. We feel as a family that Health is above all one of the most important things we can do for our family and lives. We did some research and watched some videos and came across these awesome and interesting facts.

It's kind of like the old way of thinking....

These are great movies...check it out!!

There are much more movies out there to help us understand what the government and farmers are doing to the crops and food we eat...like~Ingredients, Food Inc., Etc.
If you are interested in any thing please let us know.

Being BUSY and Having FUN!!

Ok, so I haven't blogged in awhile and now I am catching up. We have been really busy lately with going places like the Beach, the Mountain's, Camping, going up for the Gardner Family Reunion, Seeing our good friends in UT, Visiting Erin and her family, Etc. And also getting the kids adjusted with school. Finding time for each other. Along with cleaning the house, too. And Yes!!! We are very exhausted. So, Here are some pictures of us going and doing....I hope all the pictures will fit but if not then I can post again.

Solar Dependence Day

International Solar Day was Saturday the 18th.

So in honor we went out to the breaker box flipped the switch and turned off the grid completely. Solar energy is another form of becoming self reliant not dependent at least to Edison in this case. Our battery bank and then maybe Edison are now the back up during cloudy days. We were able to still power the fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, computers w/ internet and tv and solar lights all day long and cooked with the grill pretty much most of the things we do every day while having a graduation party... all because of the renewable energy of solar panels.

It was a DIY system we put together but it feels good to have a little more freedom and didn't even have to change the day to day. One step, albeit small, towards independence. Now to get off of oil and gas...
